Sayuri - Japan collaboration

I introduce you to Sayuri. That’s the name I gave to the piece I created for Japan – An International Cake Collaboration.

Organized by the fantastic artist Raquel Garcia, it has around 120 wonderful works entirely dedicated to the country of the rising sun. For my part, I loved participating and I feel honored to belong to this group.

Inspired by Japanese culture, I created this beautiful bust of a Japanese woman. On the head, she wears an ornament topped by a Shachihoko, a mythical Japanese creature with a tiger’s head and a carp body. These creatures are capable of controlling rain and are commonly used as ornaments on the roofs of temples and castles to provide protection from fire.
