The most important thing I learned was that there are times when I have to admit defeat! The figures of Moana and Maui are NOT made by me. It’s the first time I’ve given up and resorted to toys – and will probably result in my expulsion from CakesDecor – but I just couldn’t get them to look authentic enough.
So I checked with the birthday boy’s parents, and they were fine with my Plan B and have ended up with mementoes that can actually be played with.
The rest of the cake was fine and I loved putting it together.
