I loved making this cake, I had a call a week before from a lady in a panic that her parents decided they actually did want a ruby anniversary cake. I was recommended to her and fortunately only had another 2 tier that week – ha (also recommended by the same lady!). My criteria was red, white and black and I played around with the hearts to see what looked good. I like the look of the cake which is quite simple and elegant. The bottom was fruit cake, middle chocolate and top lemon. They loved it.
