This Gingerbread Castle was done as part of a collab titled Christmas Grandeur under Lets Do It Fondbites (LDIF2).
Christmas, which celebrates the birth of Jesus in a lowly manger in Bethlehem, over the years became associated with so many traditions – the Christmas tree, bells, stars, snowflakes, Santa with gifts, cakes and of course gingerbread cookies.
When the theme for this month’s collab was announced, the idea of building a gingerbread castle sounded so exciting yet daunting for me who had never baked a gingerbread cookie till date. The challenge of turning this dream project into reality entailed a lot of research online for the right recipe and a design for a castle. Baking the aromatic gingerbread panels was the easiest part while assembly was tough with quite a few mishaps.
Here is my version of a totally edible Gingerbread Castle named La Casa de Rosa ( The Castle of Rose ) covered with snow celebrating a white Christmas.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All !!
