This a vanilla cake butter-creamed filling covered in fondant. The piping was royal icing and I used tips 3 & 4. Tip 4 was used to make the long strands and tip 3 for the hanging strands. Spider was made from fondant and black roses to complete the black & white web cake…enjoy!!! P.s string work did break about four times…so it looks easy but it wasn’t that easy…lol….good luck!!!

Wow! I can’t imagine trying to make the webs out of royal. I don’t think my heart could have stood the breakage. I love how unique this cake is.

Amazing, will you explain how you did the net and the big spider?
is the net done by sugarpaste?

Jessica, I am truly sorry I forgot to reply. I made long strands out of royal icing let it sit for about three hours and went over those again and let that sit to dry over night…the spider I just sculpted it and I did the same thing for the legs. It wasn’t easy and you definitely should make back-ups because it breaks easily. once they were placed on the cake the way I wanted I secured with royal icing and I then did the string work. I hope this helps…again my apologies. I just log-in…:)
