This cake was for a baby shower for a soon-to-be-here baby girl.

I was inspired by the shower invitation (which the Mum designed herself !!!!!) and chose to recreate the look of the cactus, flowers and other succulents onto the cake, along with the Mum’s handwriting announcing the baby girl’s soon arrival.

The cake suited the event perfectly as guests were invited to also enjoy some cactus shaped cookies from a local baker and ceramic cacti decorated the cake table.

This was a summery lemon cake filled with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream and a raspberry compote.
