CPC Birthday Collaboration

CPC Birthday Collaboration

For my piece I chose a local artist by the name of John Ditchfield who is a “famous” glass blower. His work often shows up on home design and antique programmes. For me the characteristic feature of his work is their iridescence and how they reflect the light.

As inspiration for my piece, I chose this giant installation which sits on the corner of a field near John’s studio. I pass it everyday, and depending on the time and the weather it appears to change colour. At night it’s lit up. It stands about the height of a house and is made up of thousands of individually blown glass teardrops.
