My first time entering in a Cake Competition ( The NY Cake Show) and came home with 2nd placein my division.
This year’s theme was NYC and i wanted to pull away from the basic thoughts and ideas when one thinks of NYC. I choose to use darker colors and Textures that are so prevalent and often overlooked. Each tier represents an aspect of that idea. From red herringbone to marble tiles, and even simple art deco designs.
I also wanted to bring aspects of central park by incorporating spring season wild blossoms and berries and Fall season leaves and apples.
