Alice in wonderland. The theme my daughter chose for her 5th birthday.

Through this cake I wanted to depict madness, chaos, playfulness… All of this.. With a childlike appeal. That’s why it’s our favorite classic till date. Cakes were red velvet and carrot filled with cream cheese and frosted with white chocolate ganache. The cakes inspiration was from a beautiful poster I found on Pinterest by Dave Perillo

Staying true to the theme, I was crazy enough to organize an outdoor party in a beautiful playground that I was sure the kids would love on a day when the weather forecast predicted showers. Close friends suggested I move the party indoors. I reluctantly agreed but my heart was still set on that playground. Making arrangements for plan B, we still set out in the morning, to try our luck, ready to head back indoors if it rained hard. The sky looked angry and it did drizzle. But then miraculously the sky just cleared and the Sun shined ever so brightly as though just for us!
We had a great time! Good food, good company and a dollop of madness! Isn’t that what life is all about?!
