Tennis player, James and his beautiful wife, Kimberley (a keen cyclist) got married at a seaside hotel in Arniston, Western Cape, South Africa this past weekend. Probably one of the furtherest deliveries I’ve had (334 km return trip), 30+ degrees heat and a VERY strong wind blowing all the way. The cake was set up outside by the pool and I have to say, my stress levels were very high. My biggest concern was not the heat (as it was late afternoon when I set it up and the cake was in the shade) but the wind that was really strong. I made sure the delicate toppers were secure on the cake and said a little prayer before I left that it wouldn’t blow off! Along with the 4 tier butter cream ridged cake were 130 tennis themed biscuits – lot of preparation for this wedding but it was so worth it in the end. The bride looked gorgeous and as they said their vows, “Game, set and Match” came to mind – of course the score was Love All :-)

Not to be forgotten was the couple’s beagle puppy who also made an appearance on their cake with a little message “I do too!”

This is a fantastic cake, Lulubelle! The cake by itself is beautiful, but your great toppers and that precious (and so clever) puppy make it very special!
