This cake was a real challenge for me! It was the first time that I had attempted really sharp edges, the first time that I had covered a tall cake, and the first time that I had piped in royal icing.
The bottom tier was made from fruit cake and the top tier was a rich chocolate truffle. The choice of cake was based on the fact that the cake was needed for a date when I was I holiday and so I had to make it in advance.
The feed back from the cake was phenominal and I have already got more orders off the back of it.
I have to say that if I had my I would be making cakes like this all the time.
