I wanted to show the detail in this cake because it came together on it’s own.

I used the Wilton Jungle Animal Fondant & Gum Paste Mold for the tress and grass.

I always make blossoms (from the Class 3 – Wilton Fondant & Gum Paste Class) from left over fondant or gum paste from a cake…I can’t keep all those bits and pieces..so I just have a drawer with all sorts of colors and sizes of blossoms…as you never know when this flower will fill a cake design.

So, I originally was going to just cover the whole cake in blossoms…but I thought what if I use the tree in the mold and make the blossoms the canopy of the tree…and I’ll add the grass, too.

When I was rolling out the yellow fondant (left over from the lemon slice cake)…I didn’t have enough…so I added white around the edges…I figured the grass would cover it…and it did except for one area where it looks like the moon…and I left it and went with that…do you notice it?

I really like the way this ended up…I do which I had one of those sculpted tools b/c I did cut out the excess background for each tree so the branches would show up…still I liked the way it turned out. I will do more of this cake style.

Cakez...
