This cake was for a friend of mine who was throwing a surprise 70th birthday party. The stipulation was that it could have NO writing and NO 70 anywhere on the cake…
It is a lemon cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream icing. The roses, flowers and calla lillies are gumpaste. the “ribbon” is fondant painted silver.
