Welcome Babies Cake

A welcome to the family cake for two new babies in our family. Those little girls are now 12 years old but I still like the design of this cake. All Italian meringue buttercream, gumpaste Sweetpeas, shoe and plaque.

Thank you. I usually do fondant cakes today but I do love Italian or Swiss meringue buttercreams. They go on so smoothly and pipe nicely too. A bit too soft for roses but it holds up well for string work and borders. It taste so much better than powdered sugar/shortening icing too.
