Little Ballerina

Little Ballerina
Little Ballerina Little Ballerina

Two years ago, when I was just starting out on cake decorating, I went to the Cake and Bake Show in London. At the Squire’s stand I saw a photograph of the most beautiful ballerina made from sugar and knew I had to buy that book. Of course, it was Carlos Lischetti’s book and, just as I went to pay, the man himself was sitting there and asked if I wanted him to sign my book. He was so lovely and friendly. Well, two years later I finally got the chance to make the ballerina for Libby who is an eleven year old dancer. My little ballerina is not in the same league as Carlos’ beautiful model, but I am quite chuffed with her. My target for the next twelve months is to improve both my modelling and flower making skills, how exciting.

I was there and exactly the same thing happened. I saw the ballerina, I saw the book, I saw him and I fell in love (with all three!! :-D). He is so charming – I would love to take one of his classes one day.
Your ballerina is really lovely – Carlos would be proud! :-) x

It is lovely. How lucky you were to get his autograph. Love his work. I have his book too. Always looking for an excuse to make something from the book.

Ha ha making some of you a little bit envious, he even put a little personalised message in it too : ) Julia, we are both smitten, yes would love to take a class. Can’t wait for his next book to come out.
