July’s offering! Just finished for my niece’s 14th birthday. I thought I’d have a bit of fun with her favourite Disney princess by making her a bit more contemporary & giving her a few piercings! Lots of challenges & a ridiculous amount of new learning on this one (there are a lot of things I know NOT to do in future!) I’m quite happy with the result all the same! I tried Cake Decor in Cairns technique for coloured ganache and used two different tones to create a more ocean like feel. I love this technique and will definitely be using it again.

Thanks Goreti & Bethann!
Cakes Decor in Cairns – I’m so pleased with this technique! It’s only my 2nd time using ganache (I’ve done very few cakes) but I’m guessing it’ll be my go to method now!

That’s ganache?? I assumed it was fondant! It’s perfect! I tried ganache for the first time yesterday. Must try this sometime. x

I’m torn with this one, Helen! I struggle with basic covering as I don’t get to practice very often. This is such an effective way to cover cakes but if I keep using this technique I’ll never master sugarpaste, hmmm…
