I was thrilled to be invited to create a set of sugar shoes on a theme of my choice, for the latest edition of Cake Masters magazine. I decided on ‘Comic book heroes and villians’, as my theme and chose four female DC Comics characters, who’s looks I thought would make for fabulously fun and funky shoes that I myself would love to strut my stuff in!

My Poison Ivy shoe finally gave me the chance to make a strappy shoe (I always get asked to make full closed in shoes, as its what I’m known for in my classes etc!), and I loved the idea of the straps winding up and round her leg like vines. A gave the sandal a deep orange sole, to represent her flame coloured hair, and a textured heel with a woody feel to it, in a deep luminous green to give it that comic vibe!
