The brief for this cake was to reproduce a handbag belonging to a customer’s wife. It needed to be life size and have an I-phone showing a photo of their children and a bar of chocolate visible at the top (as it always does in real life apparently). All items must be edible of course. Also required was a Costa coffee cup (also life size). Additionally, an I-pad with a birthday greeting would be good. And if I could squeeze on the board a copy of Heat magazine with lots of pictures and articles of his wife on it. All life size and edible, obviously.
It was made from nine layers of chocolate sponge, ganached with fondant with trimmings. Not easily visible in the photo is the leather effect on the fondant ( also required ).
