Never EVER again will I just do cake pops. The client originally ordered a sailor themed 2-tier bday cake with these nautical theme cake pops to go along with them. I loved the design! 2 weeks ago she nixed the cake because she found out that Publix does smash cakes for FREE, how am I supposed to compete with that? I didn’t have the forethought to nix just the cake pop orders since these aren’t my normal. I only do cupcakes or cake pops when there’s a cake along with so not to compete with a local bakery in my neighborhood. I even offered a custom nautical smash but no, she went with free… I don’t blame her, not mad at her, totally get it….

Anyway, the cake pops….I loved this design but it took HOURS, and thank god I had my extruder.., I am pleased with how they came out, but nope, never again. Sticking with cakes from here on out, well, unless I charge double from what I charged for these…lol
