Banjo cake for a 40th birthday guy, who was receiving a real banjo as his gift. I had several issues with this, but am generally happy with the result as I’m fairly new to fondant. The pan (round part) is carrot cake with white chocolate buttercream, the neck is RKT, both areas have lemon flavored MMF (combo was delish!). Strings are jewelry wire. Wood-grain effect created with gel colors thinned with vanilla.
(Don’t know why the sides of the neck look silver in the closeup; must have been the flash. It’s wood-grained.)
