For my wonderful sister’s birthday! Her name is Tiffany, so of course it had to be Tiffany Blue! This was my chance to really play with my new Crystal Candy lace mats, & also wafer paper.
The link to the lace mat that I used for the bottom tier, called ‘Triumphal’ is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJINC7Qqx1M&feature=share&list=UUg1pHZJcXE-hfHMoPMzhBiw. And the top tier is called Zara: http://www.crystalcandyusa.com/ourshop/prod_2978933-CakeArt4-Ariel-and-Zara.html. I can’t say enough about the quality of these mats. Just a joy to work with, & what an amazingly gorgeous & versatile finished lace product!
The roses are wafer paper, & I used Stevie Auble’s Craftsy class tutorial on doing large open roses. Aren’t they just beautiful? I airbrushed them to give them the two-tone effect.
There are ‘surprises’ inside both cakes! It’s all elegant & demure on the outside, but the inside is WILD! The bottom tier is zebra print with Oreo white chocolate buttercream filling & both white & dark chocolate ganache. The top tier is pink leopard print inside, with hot pink buttercream filling & white chocolate ganache. Picture is above!
Here’s the link to the video of the cake:
