A Risqué Cake

A Risqué Cake

I have recently come across some of the first cakes I baked and decorated. This was one of them.
Unbeknown of the birthday boy, the cake was suggested by my sister-in-law for my brother and I promptly took on the challenge. And what a challenge it was!
First, there was no boob baking tins available, so I had to improvise with some soup bowls (yes, soup bowls); then, I underestimated how much flesh coloured sugar paste I needed (hence the bumps where the sugar paste was too thin to evenly cover the buttercream) and finally, how to transport the cake 100 km away. It was such a learning curve!
The funniest part came when the cake was presented and the birthday boy was so surprised that he refused to cut the cake. As the birthday party took place at his home, he solved the problem by calling up his (male) neighbors, who all came to admire the cake and provide appreciative suggestions on how to suitably conduct the careful operation of cutting the cake. Absolutely hilarious!!!

Thanks Kath! Yes, well, I don’t have a video of them but I do have a series of photos showing the knife at different positions and many fingers pointing suggestively… LOL
