Made this cake for my daughter’s boyfriend then shipped it from Massachusetts to Austin, TX for a total of about 2000 miles. It actually made it there in good condition. It is chocolate mud cake, filled with orange flavored ganache, covered in chocolate ganache and MMF fondant. The last picture shows the cake as it arrived. Not the best picture quality since taken with cell phone but will give you an idea.

Thanks everyone. I would have loved to decorate it for him a little differently with 3d accents but they would not have survived the trip.

Fabulous cake, Goreti! You’re into long distance delivering aren’t you, you’d have to be careful to come up with a cake that had to survive a journey like that. Well done! :-)

You are brave to ship this Goreti! I would never have had the nerve hehe. Great cake though and good idea to go with a single tier cake without things that could fall off. Awesome looking design and love the way you did the damask. Great colour combo too =D
