This cake features all edible handmade buttons and flowers for a 60th Birthday celebration. The two upper tiers are red velvet cake filled with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting and the bottom tier is lemon cake with lemon buttercream, all covered in rolled fondant. This was all done with just four days’ notice! :)

Thanks! I made the buttons out of a light brown base and then painted them with a mixture of gold luster dust and vodka. The brown color gave the buttons an antiqued quality that I think turned out really nice! The colors remind me of my mom’s lipstick from the early 90’s. Who knew that mauve and dusty rose could make a comeback? :)
