I had the pleasure of creating this open book cake for a close friends sons 1st birthday…
Riley loves lions and more specifically the lion king characters!

This cake was huge! This was a chocolate mud cake with milk chocolate ganache+fondant.
I created every character by hand and painted the background on the cake.

This was the 1st time I’ve ever made a open book cake and characters from lion king..i was extremely nervous about how it would turn out but I’m really happy with it.

I wanted to not only decorate the cake but i thought id learn something new and test it out-Wood effect on the cake board!
I cut, detailed and painted it by hand..shame there wasn’t more of it showing after the cake was on it! But luckily i took a photo before the cake was put on :)
