Hi Christine, I have painted a lot on marzipan and find it is not a problem at all. The only slight issue sometimes can be the marzipan not being exactly white (as you say), which can of course affect the final colour of your piece. If the marzipan is smoothed well beforehand (I wear gloves for this) and allowed to dry completely, it is a very good base to paint on. I don’t have an airbrush but I can’t see why it would be any different.
