How I made 'Steampunk Cinderella'.

This is the plaque that I made as a cake topper for the Steam Cakes Steampunk Collaboration this year.
I covered a 10" cake board with Satin Ice fondant :

I printed out in black and white a photo of the inspiration photo I used, all credit goes to Jen, of NoFlutter :

I used a pencil to mark out the outlines which I wanted to transfer onto the fondant :

Here, you can see how I pressed the outlines onto the soft fondant, then I let the fondant completely harden :

I used a pencil to very lightly trace the fondant outlines, before I applied any powder colors :

Jen’s artwork helped me with color depth and placement. Her artwork is really GORGEOUS. Here, I used only powders to add color and depth. Then I used edible markers to draw the lines and details :

Black powder was used to make it come to life and really make a difference :

I melted a little amount of Isomalt for the goggles :

Two little drops of Isomalt for the goggles, and I let that harden :

I had a couple of silicone molds that I used to add the gear decorations and frame piece ontop. My finished piece. I love it and I hope that you do too :
