Thank you Sandra. Kind of sad, last birthday cake for Melissa because she and her husband Rick are moving hours away up the coast of California. I know they will be happy there but it makes me wistful.

Love this. It is such a fun cake. Totally understand your feelings about being the last cake. My oldest daughter moved away before I started decorating cakes. She is the one who actually encouraged me to start and I have only been able to do one for her.

How wonderful to take the meaning of Melissa and make this gorgeous cake. I have a special love for bees, especially bumble bees. I read a motivational book many many years ago and it started with "aerodynamically a bumble bee shouldn’t fly…yet it does! Which means you can “bee” anything you want to "bee"" 🐝
So that makes Melissa even more special XX

It’s a beautiful cake, Mrs. Shirley, and now you’ve gotten me all choked up. I live in NC and my daughter moved to California this past June and I’m realizing it’s going to be a while before I can bake her a birthday cake again! What a beautiful cake you made her, Shirley! Well I am on the opposite side from you, my mother “left me” and moved on to the beautiful countryside of central Greece…distance is always difficult to handle! But don’t think of it as your last cake, cause you can surprise her next year by visiting there to make her a birthday cake and celebrating the day. Happy birthday to your daughter♥
