Thanks a lot Calli. :) for your help and time. One more question. Lol.. could I use rice crispies instead of Styrofoam to make characters, like the head and body?

Wow! I have not work with modeling chocolate but I am going to give it a try and as it looks I’m sure I will use it often.
Thank you!

WROSADO

The recipes I’ve tried in the past have been a bit of a hit and miss, so will look forward to trying out this recipe.

Thank you so much for sharing. :)

Mark.

Thanks to you all, hope you find it successful
Sorry Lillian, I only saw this now… Yes, I use rice crispie treats all the time for sculpting, not styrofoam xx

Hi brilliant tutorial! Thanks. If I was to use supermarket chocolate would I be buying cooking chocolate or regular? Xxx

Thanks for your post, Cakeenvystoke, I use all kinds of choclate, but the cheap packets of shop brand chocolate chips in the baking section at supermarket are perfect. I’m sure the cooking chocolate slabs would be the same, but not tried it.

Hi Calli, i was just wondering after making the modelling chocolate how long does it last? And how long can you keep things you’ve modelled out of it? Thanks Mel x

mel

Mel, I’m unsure to be honest, but all I can say is I still have my Scrooge from Dec 2013 and he’s perfectly intact.

I only mix enough modelling choclate for what I need but if you want to mix more and know you AR not using it for a while, store it in the fridge. The longest I’ve kept modelling choclate so 3 months. If making for a client, I alway make fresh. For display work I use older stuff xx

Hi I have finally just got round to making this and my ball is wringing with oil any ideas of what went wrong, also how soon after it is made can I use it or do you suggest to leave it overnight? Many thanks Lizzie xx

I will definitely be making this!

Hello! I just found this website and you are the first one I followed :) my question is about the glucose. What can I use instead of it? In Turkey, it is a little hard to find. Is pure honey ok? Thanx for sharing, loved your posts!

kankirella

Hi Calli! I’m new to this but thanks for the tutorial! i live in a hot and humid country…do you this will be stable or do i have to keep the room chilled at all time? thanks!

Many thanks for your feedback. For the last few people with questions, I have messaged you the answers and apologise for delay as did not receive notifications of the questions.

This is great. Better than the bought stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for this, Calli! You make your modeling chocolate exactly like I make mine, but I didn’t know you could color it this way with gel color. Thanks, again!

Sugar Sugar by SSmiley

Hi Calli,
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I have made modelling chocolate, and it is now set rock hard. How do I make it pliable? Can I mix it with gumpaste in order to make figurines? ’Cause mine is either rock hard or when I microwave it, then too greasy.
Thanks
