Thanks so much for the overwhelming response.. To answer the questions:
Colouring
Yes you can airbrush with ordinary colours as I have done so. The colours I use are Kroma Colours range… KopyKake (https://www.kopkake.com ) I’ve not experienced any problems. The TRex I did I used these.
The Dinkydoodle range (https://www.dinkydoodle.co.uk )are fabulous as well as they are powder base. I’ve used these successfully.
I have not coloured the chocolate during kneading (but I see no reason why you can’t) but have done so afterwards, like the Ninja Turtle green. I colour once it has set. I use paste colours only. If it’s too hard, pop it in the microwave for ten seconds or less, then it’s easier to knead in.
You can also purchase coloured choclate candy melts too as another option.
Elizabeth Miles: I bought that Liquid Glucose tube at Tesco. On the cake section, also available in Morrisson and Sainsbury cake sections too. Not sure how your store shelves are stacked, but this was on top shelf, above the bottles essences and small bottles of liquid glucose. Morrison’s do their own brand, in a blue tube. Also 140g.
Yes, a baine Marie is perfect. Once melted, carry on with rest of procedure.
I hope that will help you all?? Please shout if need more clarity xx

Yay, this is how I make modelling chocolate, and have made all three different flavours, white, milk and dark chocolate, all using supermarket cheap as chips bars ;-) Keeps for ages too, if you don’t eat it all.

Thanks so much very much, I can’t tell you how delighted I am this is going to be useful to so many of you. I had no idea that so many people were interested in modelling chocolate.
Alison Inglis yes, exactly!!! I only use the supermarket cheap stuff (this demo was one of the rare times I used something else) … And I use dark, milk and white also, depending what you are doing, so pleased you enjoying it as well, it’s such a versatile medium.

Thank you very much for this Calli. This is definitely on my to-do list but I was wondering if the models dry to a matt finish. I notice your coloured balls have a slightly shiny look – maybe that is because they are freshly made. Also, how do the models fare when they are kept? People tend to like to keep the models I make :-)

Sensational Sugar Art by Sarah Lou
Woot, Sarah Lou, I’m so delighted with your feedback.. I bet you’ll be making a lot of modelling choclate now :)
Julia yes, it dries totally Matt, it was photographed fresh. Also, yes, the models dry pretty hard and firm and can be kept in a container away from sunlight and heat. my Scrooge is still sitting, open, happily in my one rooms and that’s since xmas 2013!

Could I use the Hershey white chocolate chips instead of candy melts?
Yes Lillian I’ve tried four different brands of white choclate and they all work, so pretty sure Hershey will be fine. Xx

thankyou for sharing – I really could have done with this before xmas when I had a chocolate wrap cake to do!! Your way is so simple – can’t way to try!!! …..Just one question – if you want to use other chocolate – such as dark – is it the same ratio of chocolate to glucose.
Thanks Beautiful – Shell x
