I can’t remember who’s cake this was, but I remember seeing a post about it at a cake show, I remember the person who commented on this cake mentioned that each strand of hair was attached individually. It is amazing.

If I was to take a guess I would definitely say an extruder for the long hair and even possibly the short. Definitely an amazing cake, quite breath taking.

Yep Id say an extruder or even a hyperdermic needle with royal icing looks pretty fine. So amazing!

whatever they used… blooming fantastic! it is quite possible that each hair was rolled individually. The tapered ends can also be achieved by carefully pulling the strands of sugarpaste (softened with white fat) out of the other side of the extruder gun or garlic press. Still very time consuming. award for dedication here! wow!

I saw this at Cakes International Show last year… I was blown away with the skill… Those eyes speak to you. I do not know the technique, but for sure this is one amazingly talented lady… I stood I’m front of this masterpiece for ages… An artist for sure… I do believe this can be done with a special piping tool…this is a labour of love and patience xxx
