Last 16th october we have celebrated my sweetest grandma Camilla birthday. She is 100 YEARS OLD!!! As a queen we have celebrated this wonderful event for 4 long days. Since I started to work in cake design world, preparing cakes for her birthday was my job. Once I make a piano cake, because still today she plays to the piano brilliantly. another time I make a embroidery cake with royal icing (post last year on cakes decor), because still today she embroider wonderfully ecc dcc.
For this birthday, the most important, I thought to make a cake that represented some of her passions and quality that makes her the best grandma that I ever had.
First of all my grandma, fair and proud, winners in any case in her long life.
Treble clef because she couldn’t live better without play classic music to the piano since she was 3 years old.
Roses because she loves flowers and she has care of their like children.
Pearl necklace represented beauty, femininity and elegance that she has still today. When she was young she has beautiful curly red hairs and green eyes, high 1.70 m and in our city called her Red Venere. Our prince Umberto I, while was visiting our city, stopped to do his personal greetings breaking out my grandpa jealousy :)))))))
This year I used sweet lace to make embroider, the effect on the cake was amazing
Finally 8 hearts, one for her, another big one for my grandpa and 6 little hearts for his wonderful sons.
My grandma and all my parents loved this cake at first time, especially its means. I’m proud to be her nephew and have her name……….Hope I have someone of her many merits.
