Honu the Sea Turtle with her Fishy Friends – 10/4/16 – Part of the #WorldAnimalsDay #Cake #Collaboration. Although I am a mountain girl at heart, I also spent many childhood days on the beach, in Texas, California, and recently Hawaii. One of the consistent friend I would see in the surf was the Green Sea Turtle, whose native range includes all of coastal America.

In Hawaii I learned her name is “Honu”, and that she can grow larger than a dinner table! I idealize these animals in spirit – calm, kind, intelligent, so sure in their place in the Universe, and that the Sea Will Provide. Big eyed Squirrel Fish accompany her, a tribute to my Gulf of Mexico beach days.

Before you buy bath products with microbeads, or another plastic bag or bottle of water, I ask you to consider Honu, knowing the likelihood the trash will end up in her home
