The luggage cake I did last year had such a tremendous response that I decided to do a display version of it. I chose typically vintage colours of brown, duck egg blue, eau de nil and ivory. Finished with gold embellishments I tried to get the cases to look as reallistic as possible. I finished the cake with vintage travel stickers( used my edible printer for those!) and gave a nod to Raffles Hotel, Singapore where I spent my 40th birthday a few months ago. Neil Hanson from Oxford Wedding Photography (www.nordicpics.co.uk) had the great idea of shooting the cake in the library at Eynsham Hall, the leather bound books were a perfect back drop. We also displayed it on an authentic vintage suitcase which is refreshingly different to your normal cake stands!
