I really loved painting this cake. The original design was by Sweetlake Cakes & beautifully appropriate for a gentleman’s birthday. I layered ivory, chocolate, black & metallic silver to create the hand-painted design on the sides. The silver doesn’t show up very well in the photos, but in person it was a gorgeous shimmery effect. The bow is modeling chocolate & the tag an edible image on gumpaste.

The cake is Black Velvet cake which is my own original recipe using Oreos as the ‘flour’ in the cake, & it is filled with Oreo Cream Cheese buttercream, iced in dark chocolate ganache.
