Oh how much fun I had with this one! I’m a confessed coffee-holic myself, & I am NOT looking for any rehab! Give me more!
I made the coffee cup topper out of rice krispy treats, using one of my china coffee cups as the mold. Covered in gumpaste, with poured ganache ‘coffee’ & buttercream ‘whipped cream’.
The top tier is covered in a fondant colored to look like a swirled latte, with modeling chocolate silhouettes & hand-piped ‘steam’. Loved piping the birthday girl’s name in the steam! White chocolate espresso beans finish off the bottom of the tier. The bottom tier has chocolate-covered espresso beans in both dark & milk chocolate accenting the green diamonds—-the color of her favorite coffee shop, which shall remain unnamed, but we all know who it is! :-)
The bottom tier cake is Espresso Chocolate Mud cake with a Salted Caramel Buttercream filling, & Kahula Espresso Ganache. The top tier is vanilla sour cream pound cake with a white chocolate buttercream filling & caramel white chocolate ganache. All edible.
