To make gum paste leaves on floral wire, you’ll need: 26 gauge (food safe) wire, green gum paste, rolling pin, angled offset spatula, CelBoard, gum glue, rose leaf cutter, dusting pouch, and a leaf veining mold or shaping foam and veining tool.
CelBoards are nifty rolling boards that have grooves along one side and circular indentions on the other. I’m not sure how I would make wired gum paste leaves without one, because they make such a handy ridge on the back of the leaf for ...

I have had a love for Judy Garland since I was a little girl; my father introduced me to The Wizard of Oz when I was two. From that moment on, I watched every Judy Garland movie I could find. I still can recall the first time I saw Judy Garland and Fred Astaire dancing and singing to classics like “We’re a Couple Swells”, “Drum Crazy”, and of course “Easter Parade”. I introduced Sydney to Judy Garland and…

This tutorial shows how to make a two layer rainbow cake. I used Duff Electric Color gels and Wilton gels for the colors of the rainbow.
Evenly separate you cake batter into 6 bowls and line up your icing colors. You will need purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink. I use mostly Duff brand electric colors and fill in with Wilton yellow and orange.
My son always loves to help with this part. Squeeze a few drops in each bowl of batter and stir well.

These are the colours I used for the dragon mixed with some vanilla essence!!
I modelled the head out of renshaws modelling paste. I rolled the fondant into a ball then squashed it to get into a pear drop shape then got two small balls, rolled them into little sausages and glued them as eye lids. I then used my ball tool (smallest end) to make eye sockets where the eyes go. I rolled two small balls of yellow fondant and glued them into the sockets then used my edible black pen to d...

I made this cake a while back when I just started doing cakes professionally. If done today I’d probably do a much better job such as decorating the board. Never the less this is one of the popular posts on my blog and has helped a few newbies with their sculpting. So I though it was worth a share. I added just enough pictures that I thought were necessary, I have more progress pictures on my blog post just in case you have any doubts.http://veenaartofcakes.blogspot.co.il/2012/02/how-...

I was organizing my cookie cutters, and I came across a beautiful copper corset cookie cutter Sydney had given last summer. I couldn’t believe I had not used it yet. Since Sydney loves fondant I covered them in strawberry flavored and mocha-cinnamon fondant, from Fondarific. The decorative details are piped in royal icing. While Sydney and I were FaceTiming she suggested they would look best 3-D on a fondant molded stand with royal icing string work.
