Adult Cakes

How do you all feel about making “adult” cakes for bachelorette/birthday parties? I’ve been asked to make one and I haven’t given an answer yet. I just don’t feel comfortable making it – especially when my 93 year old mom, who lives with us, will inevitably poke her head in to see what kind of cake I’m making – LOL!!!!

Any advice?

Thanks…

I don’t do x-rated cakes. I’m not offended by them personally, but it’s not part of the image I want my business to portray.

I agree with Jenniffer – I am probably one of the most broad minded people you could ever meet, but I do not want my business associated with tacky and crude cakes.

I have two impressionable children too. I wouldn’t want them to see me making rude bits and having them drying in the house.

I will not do rude, crude or drug related cakes. I decided from the start I would not associate my small business with cakes like that. I’m not offended by them either, but they are not for me.

Sounds to me like they aren’t for you either since you are uncomfortable making it.

Each to there own. But not for me.

I totally agree with all of you. I feel very uncomfortable with the whole idea – I suddendly realized that if I had to ask how others felt, it was because I really didn’t want to do it.

The client has been notified that I won’t do the cake. I might have lost a client, but I am at peace with my decision. Thank you all for your input – it really helped = :))))

Adult cakes! That is a no go area for me. Aside from the fact that I have 2 teenage kids, who are being groomed, to be morally responsible. I simply can not imagine searching for different views of indecent pictures/images – which is no different from pornography; just because I want to make a CAKE!!

Good for you, for standing by your true feelings. I think this is something everyone should think about before they start offering cakes for sale. It is important to know how you feel about this prior to being put on the spot by a customer.

Food for thought.

I have a cut off point when it comes to adult cakes – I will happily do a lace panty covered bum. Womens’ boob cakes I would do but not post it on fb! And I definitely don’t do do mens’ parts or anything like that!!

Sometimes people have weird ideas and that’s even for normal cakes and I heard somewhere that sometimes you have to save them from themselves. When people come up with weird ideas – I try to offer them something else that still ties into their concept but that isn’t that weird!! hehe

I’m so glad I turned it down. I can sleep at night without any regrets. I offered to make something more appropriate, but client turned me down. Oh, welll…
