Pazzles vs. Silhouette

Hello there!

I’m planning to buy a cutter for my cake decorations, definitely the cricut cake is out of the picture because of the cartridges, but I found this 2 other options, the pazzles http://pazzles.net/store/ and the silhouette cameo http://silhouetteamerica.com/silhouetteCameo.aspx.

have you heard about them? or have you ever tryed one of them?…

Please, let me know!!! :D

I really wish I could help you but I don’t know much about either and I know you said you didn’t want a cricut cause of the cartridges. I take it it’s cause of the price of the cartridges. I bought a cake cricut recently cause they went on sale for the holidays and I got mine for 50 bucks. The ones you linked are not cake cutting machines are you just looking for a machine to cut paper products on?

I have a Silhouette – not the Cameo but the slightly older model. I have only ever used it for non-food things (paper, card and other crafts) – never for my cakes.

I’ve had it for a while and my memory is failing me a little, but I’m sure I looked into it at some stage, and discovered it wouldn’t work for cake decorations – I can’t remember where I got my information from but I’ll have another search and come back to you.

For cutting paper, however, I love it.

So a quick google search has proved me wrong!!! http://www.flickr.com/groups/silhouettemachine/discuss/72157625020514356/

Wow exciting – I might just have to give it a go! If nobody else has tried and can provide feedback I’ll try and come back to you and let you know how my trial goes (although don’t hold you’re breathe because I’m not sure when I’ll get a chance to try it – perhaps this weekend).

If anyone else has tried it with a Silhouette would be interested to know how well it works!!!
