Hi there I am making and decorating 230 cupcakes for my best friends wedding however I was going to use a boiled icing but am now hearing it can’t be made the day before!!?? Buttercream is way to expensive for me to make and I really dont want the hard outside that Royal Icing gets….is there anyone out there that either knows how to get boiled icing to hold its shape overnight or a simple, cheap icing that would work better??

Wedding is May 11th so need feedback asap and I really appreciate your help :)

This is an image of how I was going to frost them….

I’m just writing this because I feel so bad no one has replied for you. I have no idea about this icing but I hope someone can help you out :) x

If you want to lower the price of buttercream, you can use half shortening and half butter, substitute it cup for cup. You can also replace some of the milk/cream with water. This won’t be as good as the real stuff but it’s still good.
