Breast Cancer Cereal treats

Forum: Cookies

Not cake or cookies but wasn’t sure where else to post this. A fundraiser for women who do not have medical coverage for reconstruction after Mastectomy. Rice Krispie treats on a pop stick, dipped in melted pink chocolate and striped with white chocolate. Even found some breast cancer ribbon.

They are beautiful, Shirley!

Thank you Sandra. I am also doing some Molasses sugar cookies and a lemon pound cake to be sliced and sold at the fundraiser. My daughter was very lucky that her insurance covered her double mastectomy and reconstruction. This is for the women who aren’t that fortunate.

You’re welcome Shirley, hope your daughter is doing OK. Here in UK we have Nhs, so we are pretty lucky. What a great thing you are doing. Xx

Thank you Christine. Melissa was diagnosed 13 years ago at age 42 and today no cancer cells found, she is doing very well.

I’m so glad. My mum had ovarian cancer in 1999. She is now 15 years clear and still working at 70!

Wonderful to hear that Christine. Melissa carries the breast cancer gene so she had a complete hysterectomy as well because ovarian cancer is such a silent killer. Of her three daughters one has tested positive for the gene and had a double mastectomy at age 26 and will have her ovaries removed in the near future.

Yes, I think my mum was one of the lucky ones, the cancer had progressed quite far and she went through vigorous chemo. I’m so blessed to have her with us. It’s quite amazing these days the preventative measures we can take. I wish you and your family all the best for the future, keep caking for all the good causes! Xxx
