Wedding Cake Question...

Hello Everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me here. I am just staring out.
I am making my first wedding cake: it is for 90 people and I am not sure what to charge since it is my first wedding. Any ideas on how to go about this?

My other question is: I would love to know what are the best sugarcraft books, I am from Switzerland and it is hard to get some stuff here, no courses or anything. Any advice you have would be great.

Thank you so much for all your help
Angela

Hi Angela,

To answer your first question, the best way to know how to price you work is to calculate your cost, know how much time you spend working on that cake and how much your time is worth. Another great thing to do is finding out how much the bakeries around you charge for their work; because you don’t want to over price, or underprice your work. I’ve learned this from some of the forums here. If you want there are a few topics about pricing already. Here are some links: http://cakesdecor.com/topics/218

Hope this helps. There are a few more topics about pricing if you need more info.
