Help needed for best cake storage and freezing method

I would like to bake cakes in advance and store freezer, but I’m unsure of the best method. I have read that it is best to let the cake cool completely before wrapping generously in clear wrap and others state that they wrap cake while it is still warm for moisture.

Thought I would go with the process most recommended from CakesDecor, because everyone on CakesDecor is GREAT !!!!! LOVE THIS SITE……

Thanks,
Dani

This is what I have done and has worked for me.
1. Cool each layer on a wire cake rack.
2. Wrap each layer in plastic wrap. I usually use 2 just to make sure it is completely wrap.
3. Wrap each layer in aluminum foil
4. I then place it in a freezer bag if it fits
5. If I’m freezing more than one cake flavor, I label them.

When I’m ready to use them, I let them thaw while wrapped. I am only a hobby baker so the pros might do it differently.

Thanks for the information!!!!

I do exactly as Goreti stated. Only difference is I put a stiff piece of cardboard under my cake before I place in the freezer bag.
