Topic tags/keywords: question advice wedding cake

Hey everyone, as I’m preparing to do my first wedding cake, I’m wondering which guide is the best to work with. After researching, I see a lot of people saying that the wilton guide is wrong. Are there any other guides that you’ve tried that is on point? If so, please share. I really need to get my servings right. Thank you!

I dont know if the Wilton is wrong, but when I looked I found that alot of the guides were off maybe 1-3 servings of each. I found that they all were right with in the range of Wilton’s guide. I just recently went back to Wiltons guide. It seemed the guide I was using yielded way to many servings.

I’ve always used Earlene’s serving guide as opposed to the Wilton guide. She has a bit larger (and more realistic) portions in comparison to Wilton’s I believe. You are welcome to check it out for yourself here:

Earlene's Cake Serving Chart

I hope this helps!

Here is my favorite serving chart(s) there is a few different ones around (round cakes, square cakes, etc)

Since I use both party servings (2”x2”) and wedding (1”x2”) for my cakes I love having all the information for both listed along with pictures on one easy picture.
