Gold drip on cake

Hi,
Does anyone have any idea as to how to create these beautiful gold drip, as shown in picture? A close up did reveal that the drip is actually painted on with gold. Was wondering which color can do the job?

Would love your inputs,
Thanks.

Rolkem super gold. We have it in out shop.

Neha, the “drips” appear to me to be made of fondant, cut out and rolled to look like a spill. To make gold, I start with an intense yellow fondant and paint with gold airbrush color, then dust with gold luster dust – I use CK Imperial Gold.
I am thinking that you could also use melted chocolate (use white chocolate tinted yellow) and pour over the top of the cake letting it drip down the sides. Once it has harden, it can be tinted the same as the fondant.

Thank you Dominique and Sandra!
Sorry I couldn’t reply earlier. I am based in India and unfortunately Rolkem super gold isn’t available over here. We do get Americolor airbrush gold, that I use for painting on cakes. Apart from this Rainbow Dust metallic food paint is available as well.
I was also thinking that its tinted white chocolate that’s then painted over. But was wondering if the above these colors will work on chocolate? Or will they sort of bead over.
Thank you once again!

I have not tried it, but I’ve read that to make color adhere to chocolate, try mixing it with cocoa butter or coconut oil instead of alcohol. I am guessing that any solid shorting could be used as long as it was warmed to a paintable stage.
Probably worth a try.

Thank you for your help Sandra! I have painted on wafer paper using oil and petal dust, maybe something similar will work on chocolate drip as well.
Will definitely try!

The more I look at this, the more I tend to believe the part that has been painted gold is made of fondant, cut out and the drips rolled to look like it is spilling. I hope that made sense??!!

Yep it does! Thanks Sandra :)

oooohhhh that’s just a perfect drip!

Life is too sweet to be bitter

I did this by dripping white chocolate then painting with edible gold.
