Help! Which edible gold do I need?

I am a little confused as to which kind of edible gold to use on my cakes and flowers to give it a beautiful shimmer and shine. I got the Wilton airbrush gold color to spray a bow I made but, I was highly disappointed with the color. Can you tell me which kind of edible gold paint, luster dust & etc I should use. The gold color I like is similar to the one on this cake.

HI Karen!

I like to use a luster dust and if you want to paint with it like the first photo above, Just add a little bit of clear vanilla extract or almond extract with the luster dust. Then paint as desired. Sometimes some decorators like to use vodka instead. But, I’m too cheap…lol Also, check out pastrychef.com they have gold sprays too and other colors. You can get lost there for hours. That store is like a kid in a candy store. Good luck!

I use antique gold crystal colors by sugarpaste. http://sugarpaste.com/pdfs/colorchart2015.pdf

All of their colors are FDA approved including the pearl colors. I mix all the dusts I have from them with vodka.
