Introduce Yourself

Hi from Sweden.

Hi everyone!
I do not know how to introduce myself really, normally I just hold out a cake and ask cake? then I have a new friend.

I guess that is impossible here. smile

I am from Sweden and I live in the province of Småland, most famous for IKEA , Linnaeus and Astrid Lindgren ( Pippi Longstocking). I am great on allergy baking and cooking due to my own diseases.

My baking and cake decorating style is minimum of artificial food colouring and artificial food flavourings, I do use almond extract due to having a nut loving 3 year old and I don’t want her to eat a bitter almond by mistake. Natural baking can be stunning and has it own rewards.
Just ask me anything and I will try to answer.

Sreeja, I have made original Princess Tårta, it is less creamy then the modern and it used to be called green cake.

jchuck so far pre made cookie dough and cake batter and sum such is rare in Sweden. Making things from Scratch is something I am used to.
Organic, no since it slightly to expensive but I use free range eggs from a local source . It is expensive for a farmer to become organic here so many grow organic but cant afford to get the certificate .

I have a question, can I post picture on savoury cakes? Odd thing I know but we have sweet cakes and sandwich cake which is savoury here and I do both.

I’m fortunate that its relatively easy to buy organic flours, sugar and ingredients etc., for baking here in Canada (Ontario).
You can post any type of cake you wish on your page. It’s interesting to see traditional cakes from different countries of the world.
