Help! How can I darken a gumpaste figure?

So I just finished making this gumpaste cake topper and I get it all assembled and in photos i see just how PALE Alice is. My goodness, girl needs some sun! How can I fix this? I tried shading her a bit with some pink petal dust but it doesn’t seem to have helped all that much. And I don’t like how sparkly the dust is. Does anyone have any ideas?

Personally I think she looks perfect as she is – I wouldn’t change a thing. Although if she is sparkly as you say (can’t see in the picture) maybe a very light dusting with cornflour? I always think of Alice as fair skinned – you’ve done a lovely job. Step away from her and hopefully when you come back you will see what I’m seeing and love her! X

Thank you Judy! I’m going to try to stop obsessing. Maybe I’ll love her tomorrow.

She’s gorgeous! X

She looks lovely, if it still bothers you tomorrow, take the faintest amount of palest pink and so lightly do a dot of dust on each cheek, it will warm it up a bit, but seriously I think she’s gorgeous as isxx

I agree….Alice looks lovely, I find zero fault. Agree with Calli..step back, and perhaps, maybe add 2 dots of pink. Personally….I wouldn’t do a thing.

Thanks everyone! I used a little pink dust on her arms and face. It really helped me relax. :)

Glad you solved this and we’re happy with the outcome….. 👍 👍
