Storing sugar flowers

Hello, I’m about to make some sugar flowers (roses) using flower paste and am confused over the best way to store them once done?
I’ve read complete opposite opinions. Some say keep them in a cardboard box, therefore not airtight. Some say keep in an airtight tupperware style container.
Which is best please? Advice greatly appreciated!

Once the flowers have completely hardened it really does not make a difference which type of box you keep them in. I use both methods.

Now I believe I read if you were going to put them in the fridge after they hardened you want to only use the cardboard box and then put that box in plastic. It supposedly helps with the condensation.

Also I think some people use the air tight containers to put not fully hardened flowers in to help keep them soft.

Hopefully I helped a little bit :)

I just made some flowers a week ago or so for a birthday celebration that got postponed. They were hard & dry. Stored them in a plastic container..not necessarily airtight. That’s not a issue if there “set”. If it’s not hot & humid, the plastic container or box is fine. Mine are stored in a cool, dry area. Personally, I wouldn’t store in the fridge because of possible collected condensation.

I store mine in a cardboard box with tissue paper to protect them!!! As June said they need to be stored in a cool, dry place as humidity is their worst enemy!!! |I used to store my flowers in my Kitchen cupboard, but due to the humidity in that particular part of the room they used to bet wet and spoiled and I had to trow away a lot of beautiful flowers. No I am storing them in the same manner but in a different part of my kitchen where there is less humidity and I am having no trouble at all. I still have a small bouquet I used for my daughter’s confirmation cake. The flowers are now 2 and half years old and they are still perfect!!

Thanks. I went for cardboard cupcake (x6) boxes. Clear lid means I can easily keep an eye on them until I need to use them, without opening the box.
