What type of fondant is the best?

I have always made MMF. I do everything with it. Like covering cakes and small figures, decorations for a cake. Just want to know if their is something better to use.

I think which fondant is best is a personal thing. I like to use fondx. I did just recently try using bakel’s petit nice and it was really nice. Expensive but really nice. I just don’t think I could use it everyday because of the cost.

This is a very informative article about fondant types and best uses.

Yep, every decorator seems to have their own favorite brand of fondant. I personally like Fondrific and Fondx, especially Elite by Fondx.

Rita we do “taste testing” once a year at my cake club meeting. We have no idea what brand were trying. We taste & rate each. We usually try 10 brands…including homemade MMF. It always surprises me how some love one and hate another. As Prima Cakes says….it’s personal. Subjective….we all have our own preferences. That being said…when I don’t have time to make my own, I use either Satin Ice or Fondx. Both easily purchased at a local decorating warehouse not far from me.

It also depends on your climate where you live. MMF becomes a sweaty mess in the humidity and heat here in the summer months. So I had to play around with different recipes to see what would hold up well. MFF works the best for me as far as homemade recipes go. Pettinice or fondarific if I need a bunch and don’t want to make it!
